Kansas football's supernatural season added one more section Sunday with the disclosure that the Jayhawks have been positioned No. 17 in the most recent USA TODAY Mentors Survey.

The positioning follows the group's 14-11 triumph Saturday in Enormous 12 Gathering play against Iowa State (3-2, 0-2 in Large 12).

That success stretched out Kansas' series of wins to five this season, as the Jayhawks (5-0, 2-0 in Huge 12) are set for their best beginning in a season beginning around 2009.

And there was no real doubt this week about whether a win would be enough to enter the top 25, which they did for the first time since being No. 21 on Oct. 18, 2009.

Kansas began the season with a success against FCS-level Tennessee Tech and afterward entered the FBS part of its timetable the following week with a success against West Virginia. Triumphs against Houston, Duke and Iowa State, clearly, followed.
